Project Default Settings

Setting up new project defaults

Project Default Settings

To access this dialog:

  • Activate the Optimization ribbon and select Project | Default Settings.

The parameters entered in this dialog are used as defaults when creating new projects or when working with existing projects. These defaults can be changed later in NPVS documents.

Field Details:

Default project directory: the directory where you will keep your Studio NPVS projects.

Terminology:  select if you would rather have [ore] and [grade], or [raw material] and [quality] used in dialogs and reports.

Units of measure: enter the units that you are most likely to use in your projects.

Annual discounting: the discount rate, for example: 15%, commonly used by your company.

Number of surfaces to show without asking: if you select the Show surface command and the surface file defines more surfaces that entered in this field, you will be shown a dialog where you will be able to specify the number of surfaces for visualization. Note that it is often counterproductive to generate a large number of very similar surfaces.

GRA Enable export of simulated pit shells: if you select this option the GRA Risk Rated Pits tool will create a 3D Object identifying the pit shells for the reference grades and for all simulated grades; the object can be viewed or exported.

Document Options:

Automatically remove views when closing document: if you select this option your appautomatically removes views when closing the document.

Report templates folder: Browse for a folder in which to store report templates. Disabled if the Reports window is open.

Note: Save a report template using the context menu provided when clicking a value in a reporting table value cell.

Data option: if you select this option, Studio NPVS copies all imported files to the NPVS project Data directory (Default)

Haulage truck options: Depending on the option you select, when you click on the Haulage Info... task, NPVS will ask you if you have one or two types of trucks, automatically use one truck type or automatically use different truck types for ore and waste. The default is Ask on opening haulage dialogs.

Material Allocation Optimizer default settings: if you select this options, which is the Default option, NPVS will stockpile only material that can be reclaimed at a profit.

Backup options: select the type of backups you want and the frequency of these backups.

The 3D Object can be big, so use this option only when needed and unload the object once you have exported it.
